Sligo to Ennis

Sligo to Ennis

Another of the same Irish breakfast that I didn’t like, but we’re staying at budget hotels, so I guess I shouldn’t complain.

After we ate, we departed the hotel and headed to the Cliffs of Moher near Liscannor. Again, the rain and clouds were on our side and blew out just long enough for us to visit for about two hours.

A short stop in Knock was next to visit a shrine where some claimed to have seen an apparition.

Next, we headed to the Auburn Lodge in Ennis, where we would be spending the night. Some of the tour people went downtown, but I rested at the hotel until dinner.

Dinner that night was at Bunratty Castle, where we would be entertained and fed medival style. The other guests really enjoyed it and I could see how they would, but I’m a bit jaded, having a husband and friends who do 16th century reenactments at the Washington Midsummer Renaissance Faire each year. We’re a big of snobs when it comes to clothing accuracy, etc.

For the first time of my trip, I finally had a good appetite and ate my share of the ribs, chicken, potatoes, vegetables and fruit! I slept well for the first time, too.
