Cadiz
This morning Marcus picked us up and we’re all heading to Cadiz for the day. We lucked out with the weather…It was really raining over the hour’s drive, but stopped when we arrived. It also rained while we ate lunch, but stopped when we started walking again.
I loved walking around the shops and buildings in Cadiz. We even toured some old Roman ruins. There were wild parrots in a small park that were singing away. A lady gave MJ some seeds to feed the pigeons. It was such a lovely day.
We toured a fort and Haylee did a photoshoot of me in my bold dress and red silk scarf. Before dinner, we did a tour of a catholic church. MJ is too funny….he said, “not another Jesus house!” LOL
Dinner was at a tapas restaurant and excellent.
We had one disappointing occurance, though…on our way out of the parking garage, Marcus scraped a post and did paint damage to his car.
Back in Rota, we later met up at an Italian restaurant where I ate some delicious lasagna. I can’t remember what the others ate, but we lingered a long time, enjoying drinks and the company.
Last Day of Vacation
On our last morning in Rota, William stayed sleeping while I walked to a coffee shop where I got my caffeine fix and some breakfast. I didn’t eat all the breakfast, so I took the majority of it back to William to eat. He must have been hungry because the food was gone in seconds.
Marcus picked us up and took us back to Jerez for our flights home.
The flight from Jerez to Heathrow (London) was short and we then had a four hour wait until we left for home. We grabbed some food and hunkered down to wait.
We finally were in the air and I was looking forward to being back home. I had a great time on vacation, but I was ready for my own bed and routine. The A/C on the plane wasn’t working very well and I was extremely hot the entire time. Mid-way through the flight, my head started to congest and I was soon coughing. Crap…I was getting a bad head cold (which didn’t go away for over two weeks).
We arrived in Seattle at 5pm. Marcus had arranged a luxury SUV to drive us home for only $50 with the tip. It was quite pleasant, but the driver didn’t know how to read his GPS (or listen to its voice instructions) and took us too far north. When he started to turn the wrong direction again, I spoke up and started giving navigation to him so we could get home. I was tired and just wanted to be done for the day.
