Cross-Country Road Trip Day 27
Somewhere in my travels I lost a day…we were gone 27 days, but I can’t figure out where the extra day belongs. Possibly my time in PA.
We got up early and stopped in The Dalles, OR, at Momma Jane’s Pancake House for an excellent breakfast. There were so many options on the menu and the portions were huge!
We drove along I-84 on the Oregon side of the Columbia River because it’s so scenic. It added an hour or so to our trip home, but I preferred it over the I-90 route.
We ducked off the interstate for a bit to drive the Oregon Scenic Byway (old hwy 30). There are a lot of waterfalls along this route and we made several stops. At the top, there’s a cool viewpoint, but sadly the building was still closed due to covid.

A couple of hours later, I dropped Wanda off at her house in Lakewood and continued home, arriving in the late afternoon.
I loved my road trip and all the things I got to see and people I met, but it always feels good to be back home!
By the time I arrived home, I had driven 8,270 miles!
