Warwick Castle

Warwick Castle

Stepping back in time

While visiting London in 2007, we went to Warwick Castle. I was excited to see this castle since it plays an important role during the War of the Roses between the Lancasters (Tudors) and Yorks (Plantegants). Warwick was nicknamed the “king maker.” It was also mentioned numerous times in my favorite book about King Richard III called The Sunne in Splendour by Sharon Kay Penman.

The Tussauds bought the castle in the 80’s (I think) and have added their own touches…mainly wax figures depicting life in a castle.

While we were there, they were doing sword demonstrations, so of course my husband, being a sword geek, struck up a conversation with the actors and had a great chat.
