William’s First eBike Ride
I finally got my husband, William, to try out one of my eBikes. He rode my RadRunner, figuring it would jump start the year of his regular bike riding.
We rode along the Burke-Gilman trail to Ballard, walked our bikes across the lockes, then rode up a couple of steep hills at Discovery Park (max grade of 14.7%), followed by a jaunt to the waterfront on the other side of the Magnolia bridge.

We were just leaving the little park by the bridge and had about 10.5 miles into the ride when the battery on the Runner died. Since it had just showed full bars for the charge, I suspected a blown fuse.
There was nothing left for us to do but for William to stay put and wait while I quickly rode home, got the car, drove back and fetched him. It only took me about 45 minutes to ride home and get back (I was booking at 19-20 mph on the flats).
On the way back home, I made a quick stop at Rad Power Bikes. They confirmed it was a blown fuse and replaced it for me (at no charge – thanks Rad!)
My total mileage was 17.4 miles.
